Hello Dave -- Check for a loose connection on the LVD cable (Low Voltage Differential cable) that leads from the Signal board (the board with the tuner and input jacks) up to the TCON board (the board mounted at the top center of LCD panel; sometimes behind a metal shield). This LVD cable will sometimes either work it's way loose slightly or it can become slightly tarnished, like any metal, and can cause various intermittent video problems. If you remove it from it's socket and then re-seat it this will clear up many video problems. There are usually two clips the need to be pulled inward to release this plug. There is also a ribbon cable (flex cable) that leads from the top end of the TCON board to the LCD panel. It's bonded at the end where it connects to the LCD panel so you can't do anything there but where it connects to the TCON board you could remove it and re-seat it as well. This flex cable is usually held in place by a 90 degree clip. To remove it there is a brown clip the needs to be pulled in a back and downward motion to a 90 degree angle (pull by outer edges) then the flex cable can be removed. When replacing the flex cable be sure to insert it the same distance as it was originally. Before you remove it you may want to mark the distance it's inserted with a sharpie marker. If either of the above procedures do not repair your problem then you could have a bad TCON board or a bad LCD panel. Most of the time with the LCD panel the flex cable becomes detached from the panel which is non repairable (it's factory bonded).
