Sony Bravia KDL40EX703 Flahes 6 times in stand by Can't Post

Help!!! - Had my Sony Bravia KDL40EX703 for about 3 years - turned it on this morning light went green then to red and flashed 6 times

Know a little about TV repairs blown Caps - but really just starting out (my enthusiasm surpasses my experience) found the Sony Blink Codes list pasted below for the 6 Blinks
SIX Blinks---No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self diagnosis
function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

Got the back off the TV but struggling from there on in cannot locate C515 & 516 and the Jungle IC?? IC206???

1st off , I need to tell you that I do not work on LED/LCD or Plasma TVs...

But , I can tell you that you have a 40" L-C-D TV....
The blinking code you quoted applies to analog (CRT type) TVs & NOT ANY of the new flat screen TVs...
They have a different code system for those sets...
""No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster" refers to the horizontal deflection circuits in the older TVs..
You would need a service manual for that set to work on it...
However , manufacturers today are not prone to giving techs ALL the info they need in the newer manuals..

Good Luck with your repairs....

Thank you for the info jts1957 - The question is look for a replacement board or try and identify the fault on my board and attempt a fix?? - Has anybody else had this fault?? - I'll search for a board look at the cost - Done little bits on TV's always been interested, but never on my own till now
http://s866.photobucket.com/user/gjperrin/library/

Taken some photo's of the tear down - x3 boards Was expecting the Back light inverter Board to be located at the side -Guessing it's the one in the middle?? Looking for any obvious signs and part numbers first thing that stands out is the board is manufactured by Sharp as is the LCD Screen Just adding some more info - there are a couple of wires going from the PSU board (in the first picture) going into the body of the LCD would this be where the back light inverter is located? most pictures of other models have them surface mounted on the rear of the LCD

Another update - getting to be a bit of a mission

Traced the cables from the PSU, removed the bezel flipped the screen over to expose some more screws (that were underneath the bezel) removed those and lifted out the LCD plus the other elements/plastic and white sheets to expose a series of x4 tiny (things) see previous link for photo's (added to photo bucket)

Is this the fault that lies before me are these x4 things my faulty back light inverter - Please someone in the know put me out of my misery - Thanks in advance

Does anybody know if the PSU Board doubles up as the Inverter Board

Part Number 1-881-956-12

The Reason I ask is done the total tear down the back lights ran straight to the PSU board and no other

At Start up Light goes Green then after 1-2 Seconds a click is heard from the PSU Board

Then 6 Blinks at Stand By Unsure

Edge lit LED (NOT CCFL) - Manual still calls it backlight error. Will NOT have an inverter board, but is still trying to inform as to lack of 'BL.'

So the question is if there is no Back Light Inverter Board

What can be repaired/replaced to repair the TV?

Is it the fault on the PSU Board to replace they range from £24 - £180 or is there somebody out there who repairs these boards?

Just swap the boards until it starts to work.Wink
PSU (GE3-A) or Main (BAL)? (it's usually the last board you try).
