lcd26tv022hd picture issue driving me nuts

Hi, i bought a Bush lcd26tv022hd before christmas and everything has been fine upto a few weeks ago. I have started to get what looks like blocks of red in the dark or black areas and also funny wavy patterns in some of the light areas, at first i thought it might be the Virgin Media set top box as it is quite old but i run a dvd through the tv last night and it was doing the same. Has anyone got any ideas please.
