Help...Looking for a 4:3 Ratio Flat Screen 26-32inches Can't Post

I need to replace my regular TV. I use my TV for alot of analog cable, and PS2 use. If I buy a Widescreen, I'll get the boxes on all sides, losing screen size right? I'm new to this stuff, so some advice is appreciated thanks.

well if your ONLY going to watch 4:3 content and play games, i guess 4:3 would be your best bet, but 16:9 is the future and HD, so if you get the 4:3 tv now, when more shows start going HD 16:9 format , you'll then be watching shows with black bars on top and bottom like dvds, there's alot of of 16:9 plasma/dlp lcd/ flat lcd's that do a decent 4:3 STRETCH mode to fill the screen

Are there any Widescreen models you suggest, that do a good job of the stretching the 4:3 format into full screen?

i don't know about every widescreen tv model out there, i do know that my Panasonic 42" EDTV PLASMA does a good job , i never watch any 4:3 content with bars on the side, thats why i like the HD channels, cuz those are naturally in 16:9 so there is no stretching done too them and they show FULL on this 16:9 widescreen tv, as i was telling you b4 those same shows presented in widescreen 16:9 HD format would show black bars on top/bottom on a 4:3 TV, on a native 16:9 tv FULL!, just like most dvds that are in 1.85:1 aspect ratio, no black bars, there's still black bars ( minimul) when watching what i call ultra widescreen 2.35:1 aspect ratio, but i use the plasma Horizontal/Vertical settings to fill my tv so i get no black bars here's a quick example, of a modified 2.35:1 dvd "FORCED" to fit the whole screen

looks pretty good, its pure HDTV, so you'd be ready for the future, best bet is to go to the store and ask the salespeople, you can see it LIVE and you can ask them about the 4:3 stretch
