My panasonic 50" question

I have a panasonic 50"V10 for close to 10 months now.
But there is a blue line that keeps coming up in the center of the screen. Particularly if there is a blue background, Example (Jon Daily Show) but it seems more noticable from many scenes now. Sometimes the screen is perfect and sometimes the thin line comes and stays for a few seconds.
Is it common? And one very general question: Why are some movies full screen and others are not (whether I change full, zoom ect)...?
