Panasonic TC-P50ST30 and THX certification

I am looking at buying the Panasonic TC-P50ST30 on Amazon. The best price I have seen so far is roughly $1,120. Should I buy it now or is it possible that the price might go down in a month?
Also, I heard that this model is not THX certified. What does this mean and is it a big deal that it is not?
