Pioneer Plasma PDP-434PU Media Receiver? Can't Post

Was give a Pioneer PDP-434PU plasma panel. Do not know if it worked before given to me. From reading it requires or comes with a Pioneer Media Receiver to control it. From reading around other sites on the Internet, it is not clear if it will power up on its own without the accompanying media receiver?
Does anyone have experience to know if this plasma will or can power up when not attached to the media receiver? At this time, I see the Standby LED and the ON Led Lit after pressing the main power button. When I press the user standby/on soft button it does not change state (does not power up).
Is this plasma suppose to be able to be turned on without the accompanying media receiver. I believe it came with a pdp-r05U or pdp-r06U Pioneer Media Receiver.

It won't power up without the media receiver. The screen has 2 accompanying cables one for AC cable and the DV1 input controls into the media receiver / The Remote, controls the media receiver to power up the screen. Any of Pioneer media receiver will work with the display regardless of model.

Hi Daggazz,
yes the Plasma will work fine alone without Media Receiver. Plug the Plasma into a DVI port of a PC/Laptop for example and it will work. I am running a Pioneer Plasma of a Divx Media Box/Laptop and it works fine. Just make sure you power up your source unit before turning on Plasma otherwise it will turn off again and will flash Red and Green squares on the screen. If the picture is not in sync just adjust it like you would adjust the resolution on the Computer.
If your Computer or Laptop has no DVI out you can use this item availbale at NewEgg to adapt VGA out to DVI
