Samsung 58" Plasma R.I.P.? Can't Post

I bought a 58"Samsung Plasma in January and three months later my 3 year old son threw the remote control at it and broke the inside plasma panel. The outside "protective" glass did not break, however must have bent enough for the plasma panel to receive the impact and crack it.

So now I have a brand new TV which I appears to be junk as the cost to fix is about the same amount as it would be to replace. I just can't bring myself to throw this thing away. Is there anything I can do? Is it possible to find a defective panel somewhere which maybe has a line running through it or broken pixels, etc... that would at least make the TV somewhat functional? I'm grasping here but need to find a use for this thing...

My personal favorites: a door stop or paperweight.

Hi,
Appreciate that not everyone has this, but what about claiming on your home insurance?

Just a thought.

Crazy If you are really hard up in wanting to salvage this set. Other than Homeowners insurance, have you ever thought about selling the parts out of it?
