Sony vs Panasonic / Sony's trick?	Can't Post

Hi,

Just started researching LCD/Plasma realm.

1., Which one to consider? Sony Bravia or Sony KLV S40 type, or Panasonic TH42 PHD8UK ?

2., what is SONY's trick? any monitor from them is soooo sharp, even laptops'. It looks like a much better pics-quality in TV as well, than competitors. Is it the contrast level (10,000:1 vs few thousand:1), or what is their thrick?

LCD and Plasma are 2 different flat panel displays. What you seen in a store is totally differrent. It must look good therefore most people make their decision without having it calibrate on their own while staring in a store display. Have it connect a dvd player and do some testing, navigate it's functions and picture control ask for demonstration......side by side. Plasma quality is superior on movies than LCD but LCD is superior to graphics. Now Im asking you" What's your application?

SONY has no tricks except their lead, originality, reputation, and standard is absolutely impeccable. That was then!, Im afraid their lost of sales for the past 3 years will gradually change SONY CORPORATION leader in business. They're currently in partnership with SHARP manufacturing LCD's.

PANASONIC on the other hand is RULING plasma displays sales and it's not just for business sake but dedicated well improving it. Panasonic will only be the company selling PLASMA when time comes other's surrender the competition. They won't alter places help manufacture displays even if it represent PANASONIC brand except here in JAPAN only and that's very wise.
