Update/new problem with Viore PDP42V18HA plasma TV	Can't Post

I am repairing 2 Viore PDP42V18HA plasma TVs, one for my parents and one for my kids to play their XBOX on, and have the problem narrowed down to the YSUS board. There is no picture, but sound. A loud pop was heard. This has been discussed in a number of posts so I am sure this is it. I am trying to find the best deal I can on a used board from a large auction website. I know that this particular TV has been made by several different manufacturers with different model numbers, but it's either the exact same TV or very similar to the Viore model. Can someone look into what YSUS boards are compatible for the Viore version? The boards on the auction site look exactly like mine, but I want to be sure. I found one for $20 free shipping; whereas, the best deal on my part number, 6871QYH953A, is around $100! I am laid off right now and besides needing something to do, I would love to get this board for closer to the $20 price because money is very tight right now for us and I would be a hero to my boys if I fix this TV for them! LOL Thanks in advance and if you need any other info, please let me know.

Thanks for the reply, but not what I was looking for. I was wanting to know if this part went by any other part numbers in the same TV but sold under different names or if the board is made by another manufacuterer. The one I am trying to win on the auction site has a part number of 671qyh053b instead of 6871QYH953A. They look exactly the same and I was wondering if they actually were.

I see NO reason to have TWO threads for the SAME TV !!!...
By doing that you have split up the history of what you did into 2 different areas that most likely are related to the new problem...
I do NOT work on LED/LCD or Plasma TVs , but there is a possibility that the replacement YSUS board could be involved ...
I STRONGLY URGE you to go back & DELETE this post;=>....

Damn, Ron, you are coming off as pretty harsh about this! I hope it's nothing personal, maybe you are having a bad day or something. Anyway, I hope you are feeling better now. I will take your advice and delete the other post, but I want to briefly explain why I started a new thread. It's because both threads, although they have to do with the same TV, are completely different issues. The first thread, I just wanted to know compatible part numbers for the YSUS board, and in the second thread, I need an actual solution to the repair of the set. Is it possible to change the title to relate to my current issue? Anyway, I apologize if I pissed you or anyone else off! Hopefully your day has gotten better by now! Cool

Well, I got the replacement YSUS board for the Viore PDP42V18HA plasma TV and have run into a new issue. After putting it all back together, I went to turn the TV on and now there is no power! The red/green indicator light illuminates red, but that's it. The TV makes no startup noises like it did before the "repair". When I tested the 2 wires coming out of where the power cord plugs in, the display on the meter went blank! It's too late now, but tomorrow I will look for my basic trusty power indicator (a circuit with a light bulb that lights up if power goes thru it) and see if it lights up. Just wanted to get this out there in case someone had an idea I can check into tomorrow. Yes, I checked to see if everything was plugged back in. Could the fuses cause this if they are bad? It seems like it would do something even if they were bed. I am pretty much a novice at this stuff, so please be patient with me. Just shake your head and laugh BEFORE you post what you really want to say! LOL Thanks in advance!

I'm not 100% sure, but I bought it from a guy on e*** and he says it's guaranteed to work. I can send him an email and make sure he is sure. I can always hook up the old one because when it was hooked up, I was getting power to the TV at least. I'll try that tomorrow just to see what happens. Thanks!

LATEST UPDATE!!!

I went ahead and got the other TV. I put the new YSUS board in this one and it's not working (of course), but it's acting differently than the first TV.

BEFORE I DID ANYTHING : I checked for functionality and it's exactly like the other set, it gets sound, but no picture.

1. When I plug in the power cord, the red/green indicator light is red.
2. When I press the power button to turn on, the indicator light turns green!!
3. But then it shuts off completely. Mad

Then it comes back on for about 5 seconds and shuts off again. It keeps on doing this.

It seems like it's trying to start up, but it's not getting enough "push" to turn on. I will search around, but in the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions...

What I'm going to try...
1. Get fuses (the see thru kind so I can see if they are good or not).
2. Put the original board back in TV1 to see if it gets sound but no picture (to make sure nothing got screwed up)

Time to kick this dead horse again. I had to order the fuses from China and after they sent it to Illinois in Israel, I had to remind them Illinois is in the USA, where Chicago is! LOL So I finally got them and replaced all 4 ceramic fuses in each TV and here's where I'm at.

TV1 : When I plugged everything in, the RED LIGHT indicator on the front was illuminated. When I pressed the STANDBY button, the light turned green, went out, turned green again, went out again, and then wouldn't do anything else until I unplugged the TV and it did the same thing on the second attempt.

TV2 : When I plugged everything in, the RED LIGHT indicator on the front was illuminated. When I pressed the STANDBY button, the light stays red and nothing happens.

My next step is to put original boards back to see what happens. I will report the result. Thanks in advance for your help!

On a nontechnical note, who do y'all like in the Super Bowl? Rooting for the Seahawks, but the Patriots looked damn good against the Colts! I do have to say, the 2 best teams got in and hopefully we get a good game this year!

I got around to putting the original board back in TV1 and it's doing the same thing. I'll probably give up for the night.
