help, panasonic viera tx-p50vt20b black screen but goes white when disconect main board ribbon?

Hi everyone
im new to t.v repairs but really willing to learn so please be patient with me, haha
as per the title i have a panasonic viera tx-p50vt20b with a blank screen which does ever so slighty turn a lighter shade of black when turned on,
the red led on the front does go green and stays green when switched on but no sound or picture,
the only way i can get any change is when i disconnect the ribbon from the main board to the logic board the screen will then turn white,
does this mean i have a problem with my logic board or my main board, bit confused which on it maybe....
any help greatly appriciated, thanks in advance. J
