60P88342 Red light on, no picture. Can't Post
I just recently replaced the convergence chips in my Hitachi last year so I know I can fix this...don't want to throw it away....

I have a 60" (60P8342) TV that when you push the on light on it turns red. Then there is nothing at all until you turn it off. When you turn it off there will be a red light of sorts that flashes on across the top of the screen for a split second as the TV shuts down.

Any ideas?

Not 100% sure with out more info but take the back and see if all 3 tubes are lighting up. possibly a bad tube

You would think that if I did look in the back that all three would be out for a blank screen right? When this TV was put into storage area (climate controlled) it worked fine. Now I take it out and this.

Crazy Just because the tubes are lit does not mean you will have a picture. Check the pico fuseson your deflection board and see where that takes you. Also look around all of your pcb's and see if it looks like they are wet. You could have a small glycol leak from moving the set.
