smp222;..... 1st thing I would do is go to a GOOD shrink & find out WHY you moved from warm sunny Florida to ice cold as hell Massachussets (Spelling(?) this OR any time of year....... A model number would be nice.... Was the yellowish spot there BEFORE you moved ???? Do I just need to have the lamps calibrated NO !!! & they are called CRTs....Lamps usually are for room lighting etc.... And what can I expect to be charged if I bring it to a TV repair shop? In Mass , an arm , a leg or most likely , your first born........ Seriously , in Mass the rates WILL be higher than Fla... Call a local TV shop & get an idea of what they charge for house calls , estimates , &/or if you brought it in... That will give you an idea of what the costs will be down the line... GOOD LUCK......... Later...Ron.M....... Veteran & Retired TV technician
