Panasonic PT 53WX53 problem Can't Post

Picked this tv up last week off of cl for $30 and it was only 6 blocks from my home. Didn't know a thing about tv's, but i thought i would see if i could fix it. Was told it was working fine, then wouldn't power up one day. Have spent the last week reading and watching videos of common problems and repairs. Tv was flashing error code 1. Looks like i have 7 bad capacitors, leaking a soft rubber like stuff. So a couple of questions, is there anything else i should look for while i have it apart. Also, i will need to buy a soldering iron, what size should i get, i have read anywhere form a 15 to a 75 watt. If you think this is a waste of my time and money, let me know. Thanks in advance.

White rubber-like stuff is silicone adhesive. Is NOT a defect.

Well, you know, that was my orginal thought, but not all of them had that. So now to figure out what is wrong with it, guess i am back to doing more studying. If nothing else, i am going to get a cheap education on tv repair.
