Phillips 55PP935217 for a third time	Can't Post

Hello all,

I am trying to figure out a problem with my Phillips 55PP935217.If someone has a service manual for this and would email it to me, unit I would greatly appreciate it.

I cannot get the red convergence to respond to adjustment.It adjusts left to right but will not do so up and down.

I have read enough of these posts to believe it is probably an issue with the convergence IC or the circuit involved.

I am an Electronics Tech and I am capable of component level troubleshooting but have no schematics to start with.

Also,If anyone has a direction to point me in it would be appreciated.

have you changed the STK ...convergence ic's ? that would be your first step and check fusible resistorss nearby,probably open circuit.

from what i have read all symptoms point to the convergence IC

I hate to just throw parts at something but in this case it's most likely the culprit.

I was trying to avoid buying the schematic but feel I might have to.I understand there are some low value resistors involved in that circuit that probably should be either checked or just straight out replaced.These resistors have to be real tight in tolerance from what I understand.Am I correct in assuming this?

yes you are correct.I don't have a manual for that model so cannot give you values.Make sure you order original ic's and not Chinese crap that fails after 2 weeks.

I think i will gamble on the IC's without the schematic.MCM has them for around $12-$16 each.Ii will verify the IC number tonight and take a chance

Are these resistors 1% or precision ones,and if so are they clearly marked with their values? are they a hi wattage?

I assume I can just pull one leg out of circuit to verify their values and change them if they are out of tolerance.

usually fusible resistors and they look different from others nearby,so you should be able to identify them. lift one end to check normally low value around 3- 8 ohms.

I suppose a good start would be removing the board and checking the resistors.If their is an open one it could possibly cause the problem I am having.
