Phillips 60PP9200D/37 convergense problem Can't Post

i have the above mention tv that had the curved ,ghost green red blue image. i replaced the convergence chips,it had STK 392-120 and i replaced them with STK 392-150,i check t all resistors in the convergence board and all read ok.(no signs of burnt resistors in power supply) after the repair i installed the convergence board and made sure everything was connected right. when i power the tv i get six (6) fast flashes and one (1) slow, and it repeats again. i have the service manual but quiet dont understand the flashing light error. can you guys help me find whats or what i did wrong or whats missing. Thanks.
P.S. i check t all solders and theres no bridges or bad solders.

quilla333;......

How much electronic/TV repair background experience do you have ????

WHAT prompted you to put in STK392-150 ICs instead of STK392-120 ICs that the TV was designed for ????
Are you an Electronic Engineer ???

Where did you get the replacement ICs from ????
Who is the manufacturer of the ICs ???
Generics ???

quilla333;....

Uping the 120s to 150 ICs oftentimes cause problems...
NOT a good idea...
THEN you couple that with using generic ICs & you most likely bought the farm...
Generic convergence ICs are most likely made in CHINA(!!!) & have a HIGH failure rate , at times right from the git-go...

i humbly ask for your help, Thanks

I STRONGLY suggest you go to eBay or a REPUTABLE parts store & get ONLY SANYO ICs...
They are the best to use...
You can get them fairly cheap on eBay...
IF you need help with eBay & finding a reputable seller there , just ask & I'll be glad to help..

Good Luck...Sly...

There are a number of 6.8 ohm and 100 ohm resistors that can 'look' good yet be bad. (3159/3160 & 3167 to mention one set)
Also there needs to be a plus and minus 35 volt supply to convergence ICs.

You ARE inputting a signal on the sets last selected source?

ok set it up again. same problem. i check all resistors all good same reading in all 6.8 reading at 7.0 ohms and 100 ohms at 99 not too bad. convergence out of whack.
You SHOULD be able to connect SOME signal to some input and obtain something on the screen while simultaneously getting some audio from the sets speakers. If you claim you CANNOT - verify that ALL power supply voltages are present.

Re: [quilla333] Phillips 60PP9200D/37 convergense problem [In reply to] Can't Post

'In telecommunication, the term off-air or off-the-air has the following meanings:
In radio communications systems, pertaining to a radio station or television station that is completely shut down, i.e. that is not transmitting any signal, not even an un-modulated carrier wave. Other terms in this context include "dark" or "silent", though those terms were typically used for a station that has left the air for an extended period of time, or permanently; while "off-the-air" is generally used for a brief period of time, or for a station that has recently stopped broadcasting.
In a radio station, pertaining to a particular source of modulation, such as a specific microphone, that is disconnected, i.e. is no longer capable of modulating the carrier.
Note: The carrier wave may continue unmodulated or it may be modulated by another signal source, such as a subcarrier.
Also, off-the-air may be synonymous with over-the-air or from-the-air, as in picking up a terrestrial broadcast TV station off-the-air instead of from cable TV. As this usage may be confusing due to the term's other meanings, the terms "over the air" or "on the air" are more standard in the broadcasting industry.'

WHICH ONE?

It's like pulling teeth.

What voltages did you get?
Is there intelligent audio?
