Repair it or trash it..what would you do? Can't Post

Hi ! I have an LG projection tv. It is 6 yrs. old. The red can went out. I took it to the repair shop and the man said it would cost about $100 for the new red can. HOWEVER, he doesn't know when or if the other 2 cans are bad and when they will also go. He recommends to replace all 3 cans at once=$300. Now I am apt to repair it, but here is my question....what else can go wrong with a 6 yr. old projection tv that could cost me big $$$$? I would like to know because if I am going to spend $300 now to put new cans in, and within the yr. I am going to need to repair something else (because things do go wrong as things get older), then maybe I should just chuck the tv and put the $$ into a new flat screen.

What else will start going and what would you do?

Crazy First of all, what is a can? I'm assuming you mean the tubes. I am amazed that you can get replacement tubes for 100 dollars a pop, but I still would not invest any major money in this.
