Sony KP-43T75 won't power on, 4 blinks. Can't Post

Yet another sony projection TV for me. I found this one on the street near my house last night. Couldn't say no!

When plugged in, the standby light flashes, but not in any blink pattern that I've ever seen before. I can't find any pattern to it, it is very slow, and timing of both the on and off components varies a lot.

When turned on, I get 4 flashes indicating there is no vertical deflection. I did some poking about, and noticed T501 (horizontal deflection xfm) seems to have an open secondary (pins 4-6).

This part is cheap, so that's no problem. Just wondering:

-whether i should be worried about the weird standby light blink pattern when the set is off

-if there is some more troubleshooting I should be doing before getting parts.

Thanks,
Ian

randomdes;....

I just completed downloading the service manual for this TV.....
T-501 is right on the edge of the board....
That location has caused a ton of Horiz Output Transistors to blow....
It is due to bad solder connections....
You may have a really bad connection(s)....
Resolder ALL the connections on that transformer...
Recheck the ohms....
Also Check the resistance of Q 502 from collector to chassis (tuner) ground....
