My sony tv has 8 blinking lights how do I go about problem solving and repairing this

Standby light flashing 8 times and TV has no picture or sound.
Checking CN8016/pin 3 on the D Board was going above 7.4v, thus causing
IC8008/pin 12 to put the set into shutdown.
Found HV Block was defective. Wink

 hi thanks for the quick reply.
so how do I fix this. this isn't the power supply board, so the middle board. I've read that it might be the audio amp?

so the high voltage block is with the 4 red wires the ground pin and the clip going to i'm assuming the D board?

I've disconnected all wires etc to the hvb and tried the set to see about the set. it now gives me 5 blinking lights is this correct with the hvb removed?

I've tested pin 3 and there wasn't any voltage on it.

with the hvb plugged back in there wasn't any voltage on it
