Hi, site newbie here...great site, great info & discussions!
I'm hoping for some advise about a problem I'm experiencing.
I'm working on my 1994 Zenith PV4663RK.
A couple weeks ago, both sides of the picture suddenly became compressed (squeezed) inward into the picture (sort of an hour glass shape) with the top and bottom of the picture just fine. The middle portion of the picture remains perfectly watchable with excellent convergence.
Any opinion about what could cause this symptom? I can't find any soldering weaknesses or evidence of overheated parts on the Power Supply Board. In fact, the boards are in great physical condition.
I have called around and nobody seems to want to, or are able to work on this older zenith set (I am pretty limited for repair options, as I am in Alaska, and the few tv repair shops that are here don't work on any zenith set's more than 2 to 3 years old, since zenith merged with another company).
