what the hell is a "DRI" board Can't Post

Was going through a Thompson's ITC221 dead set guide and am going through the steps and it literally says "disconnected the DRI board"

Does it mean driver board? if so which one it's PTV so it has 3 drivers. if needed i could upload the manual but, more than likely i got it from you.

In his PRIOR thread?

Mebbe so...
But , believe it or not , there is a ITC221 manual....
& a ATC221 manual...
So , I need him to post answers to my questions...
I do have the ITC222 manual & skimmed it looking for mention of the "DRI" board & could not find it...

IF we can find out what manual he is using & what page he found it on , I may be able to assist him....

That's right, ATC and ITC. It's "TFC-03119_ATC221_Dead_set"
However does that mean my TV was released with both chassis? (D52w20)
here is a link to very pdf i'm reading.

This is in relation to my old thread, it got kind of burried and buggered up with spam.

Nice try , but no cigar !!!!

Went here;=>...

https://mega.co.nz/...9s5sxZJGPQYzIMytWupM

& got A huge Google Chrome logo with the following message;=>....
""Warning: You are using an outdated browser that is not supported by MEGA.
Please update your browser and make sure that you keep the default settings.."""
So , I closed up shop with IE7 & went back with Google Chrome only to find out that """This webpage is not available""
&:=>..
""The webpage athttps://mega.co.nz/#!29A2nBZB!YrMomQ09uZoziIbyKr9gsiD9s5sxZJGPQYzIMytWupM might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."""
&;=>...
Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED): Unknown error.

So , that's out....
I need a working link & the page number !!!....

You are batting 2 outta 4 so far,,,,,

I will need;...
1)..Model number of the TV... << Done !!!
2)..Service manual name you are using... << Done !!!
3)..A link to the service manual... << A GOOD one needed !!!
4)..Page number you found "disconnected the DRI board" on.. << Missing in action !!!

I can not find "TFC-03119_ATC221_Dead_set"" ANYWHERE !!!

Your TV , (D52w20) , has the ATC221 chassis & NOT the ITC221/2..

THANKS for the links...

But , the "manual" you get & are using shows just how much "LSD" RCA techs were on back in 2003 when they put that "thing" out...
I can NOT remember ANY projection TV that had a DVD player in it in 2003 !!!!
AND I have NO clue what the hell a DVI board is !!!!
That "manual" is so generic , it makes generic look like a comic book...
Waaaay toooo vague...

jts1957 has a good point...
Your model (D52w20) has soooo many variations that we need the complete model or chassis number to find the right manual for that set...
OR , try looking on the model label for the chassis number..(ITCxxx , ATCxxx)...
Then maybe we can find a manual that you can use...
This one is for the ITC222;=>..
http://elektrotanya.com/...de.pdf/download.html

This one is for ATC221..
It is a POS from Sams Photofact & most likely won't be of much help;=>...

He must be talking about the ATC221 chassis with the digital ready interface ( DRI ) board . Part #258745 for D52W20YX1 is the only one listed on my ESI disc . ITC222 does not list having a DRI board . Hope this helps .

board repairs;.....

THANK YOU , THANK YOU , THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!

I have SamsPhotofact #5002 & found the "DRI" (Digital Ready Interface) board on page 34..
Rather than search 48 pages for a "DRI" board , I used the search box which came up empty...

THANKS to you , mystery SOLVED.....

cdoublejj;....

The SamsPhotofact that I previously said would not be of much help turns out it could help after all...
IF you so choose , download the Sams from this link;=>...
http://elektrotanya.com/...21.pdf/download.html
Go to page 34 & there you'll find the connectors that are mentioned in this "manual";=>.

You don't have much choice but to use the troubleshooting guide (LSD version) for the connector numbers to disconnect...
There ain't squat out there for the ATC221 chassis...
http://www.filedropper.com/tfc-03119atc221deadset
The "LSD" Version ^^^^....

Go to this link & download Sams #5002 & go to page 34 to see where they are;=>..
http://elektrotanya.com/...21.pdf/download.html

Your "DRI" board IS on that page !!!!
That manual IS for your model TV..D52W20YX1 .....

It'd be nice to find out what exactly the problem is with the TV....
Ya think ???

Below the 'Document Preview' is:

Click the preview picture to see bigger size.
The preview is worse quality than the original pdf.

This file is downloadable free of charge from the site: Click ONLY on this >>>Get Manual<<<

You may have to wait approx. 20-30 seconds for it to appear.

I'll take that as an INSULT !!!!
ALL the websites we use are NOT questionable & CERTAINLY NOT "janky" , whatever the hell THAT means !!!!

Elektrotanya IS one of the easiest to get manuals from....

For some reason the previous link went south....
I've gone back & fixed it...
Sorry bout dat....Unsure...

Try this one;=>...
http://elektrotanya.com/...21.pdf/download.html

Listen up;....
When the website loads up , scroll down to the cover page of the manual...
DIRECTLY underneath the cover page you WILL see:
""" Click the preview picture to see bigger size. The preview is worse quality than the original pdf.
This file is downloadable free of charge: Get Manual
(You are not logged in, only 2 downloads per day possible for you.)""

When "Get Manual" appears , click on that & your download should start...
THAT IS your download "button"...

Janky, http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/janky

here is the even mroe messed up part, http://imgur.com/ObGT4b5

sure nothing new, "we need ad revenue" sites need ads to not be blocked. how ever all the ads on my end are down load buttons for ad ware.

also the site are of poor design quality. No clearly defined download buttons etc etc.

Also to contradict some of that the second links works. however there are other hosting sites, that easier better looking and don't complain when you used ad blockers.

I'm glancing over this manual, it's mainly schematics. I did see bit about error code being stored on an "NVM". How would go about getting error codes? Keep in mind i have no video and solid power light (with power to the tubes).

I think I said earlier that the Sams PhotoFacts have become a POS....
(Piece Of S#!t) in the past decade or so...
I suggested that manual so you could FIND the DRI board & disconnect or whatever the other (LSD referenced) manual guided you to check...
The ITC222 & ATC221 chassis's are my LEAST favorite chassis's to work on...

Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate your patience and your humor.

I take it these chassis have plenty issues an not enough info/support?

EDIT: Okay, i get it now, the marketing department was doing LSD with the engineering department while the unpaid interns made the troubleshooting manuals.

"Digital Ready Interface" what is normally referred to as a "small signal board".

DRI sounds like a - marketing term.

Yeah sorry about, that i'm not to used to zero tolerance on cusswords. I edited it out.

Yeah that make it even weirder because all the the other reference weather be manuals or website selling replacement boards list it as "small signal board"

I think they called it a DRI board because it has DVI port which is a Digital standard. It also has Component but, like RCA it is analogue. You probably know all this so i'll stop boring you.

oh one last thing, there is weird qwerk with the forums, when i got to edit my post it's full of HTML and it don't delete it it shows up in the edit/post.
