Changing RCA CRT Fluid, Photos, Drawings Can't Post

Hi, I am new here and have searched and searched and cannot find any photos or specific details for changing fluid on my RCA TC122 D52W26. I have at least 1 leaking tube as I see fluid in the lower front pan of the unit and I can see the front expansion bubbles are collapsed on the red and green lenses, maybe the blue but that one is backward. So far what I have read in other posts it seems pretty straightforward to rtv in a new seal and refill but I would appreciate any links if anyone has them. Or even a link to an exploded view.

Thanks,
Chris

1st;.....

The 1st thing I want to tell you is that I have been searching the web for
HOURS trying to find info on your TV....NO luck....
There are places where you can buy a service manual , but there's NO
guarantee that they will have the info you need (ie, drawings , exploded
view of the CRT , etc)....Unsure....
BTW:...The chassis on your TV is "I"TC222"A" & not TC222....
SO , perhaps posting pix "may" help....
Simply put , here's a way to do it;=>...
Take pix of whatever it is that you want to post....
Go to http://register.photobucket.com/step1 OR
http://imageshack.us/ & sign up (Both are FREE)
Upload the pix....
Use the copy & paste method to post pix....
I realize that is over simplefying things , so , if you do decide to use
either one or both , I can give you detailed info as to how to copy &
paste GOOD pix on this or any other website...Just ask...OK....Laugh.....
RCAs did not have as big a coolant problem as does Philips/Magnavox ,
so I am not too well up on their situations....
I will do what I can for you....Wink....

GOOD LUCK....Sly.....

Sorry, TC222 was a typo.
It is a ITC222. I found some nice manuals on it.
I can e-mail them to you if you like.
Does this link work?

Thanks,
Chris

Re: [1st] Changing RCA CRT Fluid, Photos, Drawings [In reply to] Can't Post

1st;....

Sending me the manuals would depend on how large a file it is.....
Did you find one for your exact model ???
How big is it ???

Yes , the link works.....BUT.....
IF you click on the pix , wait for it to enlarge , run your mouse arrow over the pix till it goes blueish , right click the mouse , highlight "copy" , come back here , right click on the mouse again , click on "paste" & Ta Da you get this;=>....

Now , that pix is too big....
I can not do it because I need to access photobucket with
your password which is NEVER going to happen....
I can not do it without uploading it to my account etc....
So you can learn over time how to resize the pix for forums.....
In the above pix , it looks like you have some damage at RB160 & JB140....(Center of pix)
Not sure what that's from as the rest of the board looks good & clean....
You need to check that out....

In the above pix you have board damage to the left of the tuner & somebody did a LOUSY job
repairing the tuner RF connector....Unsure...

In the above pix , you have what appears to be arcing damage that has taken some of the foil off the board....
You are NOT going to like this.....
But from what I've seen so far , my reccommendation would be to park this TV at the curb & wait for someone to "steal" it....
Methinks you got this TV for free....I HOPE you did....

GOOD LUCK......Sly.....

Re: [Ron.M] Changing RCA CRT Fluid, Photos, Drawings [In reply to] Can't Post

I picked it up at a yardsale for $30.
It was lightweight so i figured it was like my dlp's and had a blown bulb. Especially since the led was blinking and then shutting down. It was very dusty so I figured it might have just overheated. I was surprised it was a CRT unit. I always thought they were like 300 pounds.
I am not really worried about the cable input as I would use the RGB cables.
As fas as the board I am going to look at the other crt boards and get the resistor value and change it and maybe the small cap and give it a whirl. I have fixed pinball boards that looked way worse than this little missing trace problem. Actually with the replacement resistor it will be quite easy to bend the wire over and patch the trace. Now, if there is any other damage caused by this? Who knows.

1st;....
Sounds like you're going to have fun here....Unsure....Maybe !!!
While you are doing all that checking , take a look at this;=>....

That fuse is for convergence & may be for Vertical deflection...
Since you sprung a surprise on me;=>.. """Especially since the led was blinking and then shutting down.""" , that could be the cause....
IF it is open , you need to resolder ALL pins on the flyback & replace the fuse with a 1/2 amp pica fuse....

IF not, I repeat;=>..."""But from what I've seen so far , my reccommendation would be to park this TV at the curb & wait for someone to "steal" it...."""
Looks like a LOT of problems/work for so little....

Anyways , GOOD LUCK.....

BTW;....
What happened here ???

Re: [1st] Changing RCA CRT Fluid, Photos, Drawings [In reply to] Can't Post

I suspect that whoever did the lousy soldering job on the tuner dripped solder on the board forming a solder bridge which in turn shorted something out and melted the printed circuit

Sorry Ron, They are just ITC222 service manuals.
Repair, Setting convergence, etc.
If you send me your e-mail I'd be glad to forward in case you don't have them.

Chris

Re: [Ron.M] Changing RCA CRT Fluid, Photos, Drawings [In reply to] Can't Post

Yeah, generic but pretty good for troubleshooting. After I fill/change the glycerin in the tubes and get those boards checked/fixed up I'll give it a whirl and keep you posted. Thanks...
