GE has blurry picture

I have a GE XS - Commerical skip TV .I am not sure of the screen size but think it is 27 inch. We were trying to change the VCR toDVD player but could not. The picture is now blurry when turned on. It is almost like it it out of focus. I have tried to correct the problem using the sharpness and other utilities on the menu nothing is working. We did not change any of the cables because it was working fine before. There was abit of dust accumulated behind the set that was cleaned before the hook up was tried. This set is only 2 years old and I really don't want to by a new TV if i don't have too.
