Hitachi L42VC04U Standby Problem Can't Post

Hello,

I have a Hitachi L42VC04U and when I switch it on, I get red standby light which then turns to blue light, the TV does not power on.

Any advice welcome.

Thank you in advance

Open your set up, troubleshoot it as necessary to narrow the cause to the most likely board, obtain the board, swap it, cross your fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes and switch it on.

Hello jts1957,

I have opened the set up (something I should have done sooner, thanks for the kick in the ass) and I noticed 3 bulging capacitors on the power board, I have now removed 2x 1000uf 16v and 1x 2700uf 16v, and will get replacements tomorrow, cross my fingers, toes, twinkle my ears etc, and see how I go on. I will update with results. :)

Thanks for the reply!

Hello again,

TV is back up and running flawlessly now for 1 day, if any changes I will let you know, but seems like replacing the 3 capacitors has done the job.
