Mitsubishi is a great set, I still recamend them, however ther power supply ( the one in your old set ) has had some problems, one of which is there filter caps are under rateted and the cap off the regulator will leak over time, this drive the voltage up and dries out more caps.
One of the more critical is the coupling cap off the H.O.T ( 2.2 at 450vt)
Take this to the shop, if they are any good they will replace at least a dozen caps. any less would be considered a bandaid
