No name tv not turning on Can't Post

Hello,

I bought a 50" tv from dicksmith Abit over a year ago and now all I get is the blue light to say it's on. Nothing on the screen and I can't get any sound. I have tried the flashlight test and got nothing. I have taken a photo of the control board and the mainboard as I want to replace them but I don't know where I would do that.

Any help would be awesome.
Thankyou

Re: [Zanderab] No name tv not turning on [In reply to] Can't Post

Your No Name TV now has a name, judging by the boards it is either a Westinghouse, an Element, a Seiki or an RCA... A possible model number used in Westinghouse is EW50T5KW if you need to do a search for boards.

One possible problem with no video is a bad Tcon board (its the smaller board in your pictures) there is a tiny fuse on that board that sometimes opens. The fuse is labelled F102; that's the number printed on the board beside the fuse. & in your picture the fuse looks either green or black & it is sitting right between diode D7 and capacitor C21 right next to where the LVD cable connects (LVD cable is the cable that comes from the main signal board)

If you or someone you know have a meter, try checking to see if this fuse is open.

Do you know if your TV still had backlights even though there was no video? You would be able to tell if you turned the TV on in a dark room, you would see the screen glowing and also if you have the back off you'd see light glowing from spots on the back of the panel.
