Hi
My beloved 32" Philips CRT TV Model 32pw9596/05. has developed a fault
The neck of the CRT has internal blue flashing/arcing a few seconds after turning on and the green indicator light turns to pulsing red. I have the RTEB cert in radio and tv servicing just as a hobby but that was many years ago.

Sorry to say that you are the proud owner of a 32" doorstop or a GREAT 32" boat anchor !!!
There is no fix for arcing in the CRT neck..
Something is shorting out in the CRT..
The only fix is to replace the CRT which is grossly uneconomically worth it...

Hi Ron M,
I had a feeling it may be sudden death of my TV set.
Today I have been to look at some shiny new ones.
I think I will have to hire Arnold Schwarzenegger to lift the set out of the house.
There wont be a dry eye in the house when it departs.
