Phillips TH-42PS9 Plasma, can't select input signal?

Just bought a Phillips TH-42PS9 Plasma 42" and under "setup" it has an option for "signal" but it says "Component/RGB- in select" and wont let me change it? I have a VGA cable connected to my laptop and i want to use the TV as an external monitor? any help would be very much appreciated. under this option it has "input label" and this is selected as "PC1A"
