Samsung 46" blown fuse and a little char Can't Post

Good evening,
I have 46" samsung that quit working. Opened it up found the fuse blown and a little bit of burn marks on the what I assume to be the main board.

Have ordered new fuse, was wondering if anyone can tell me what the elements on the board that have some burn marks on and near them. Not really excessive but would like to know. Going to add new fuse and see what happens.
Obviously something shorted, so wondering if anyone can discern from the pics what the parts are and if its worth or even can be fixed.

Thanks
Bob

Click on link.
They are out of stock on this board.
They do give you two choices:
A repair kit - where they send you a kit of parts, you install these parts, cross fingers, toes, eyes, etc.
A repair service - where you send them your board, they install parts from kit, send your board back to you, cross fingers, toes, eyes, etc.

I'd inspect ALL the parts they call out in their kit first, just to get an idea of how many are involved.

Thanks for the input.

I found this on eBay, appears to be the right board?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-LN46D630M3F-Power-Supply-P-N-BN44-00463A-180-DAY-WARRANTY-/111764404261?hash=item1a05ad7825
Never dealt with anything like this before, I have to imagine its worth trying the $80 bucks to save 47" Samsung TV.

Thanks

Doesn't look like he has more than the one board. So pretty much depends on how much you trust what he's saying.

Re: [jts1957] Samsung 46" blown fuse and a little char [In reply to] Can't Post

I picked up a fuse for the TV.
It will power on with the chime and red light on the front of the set, but will not display any image.
No flicker or visual attempt at illuminating the display.

Is there a way to check if power is exciting the board to the display?

I uncovered the board that what I believe controls the display. It is tall and runs down the right side if you are looking at the TV with the cover off face down. There appears to be no damage at all. I reseated the board, no change.

Any other input would be most helpful,

Thanks
Bob

Your search - LND46D630M3F - did not match any documents.

The boxes/grids next to each plug list what is on each pin.

As regards tcon or more likely inverter ("board what I believe controls the display"), you having provided no means to do any research ...

What board(s) are you talking about?

Careful there were more than one of each used during this models production run.

Re: [jts1957] Samsung 46" blown fuse and a little char [In reply to] Can't Post

I have gotten power to TV when before it would not power up at all. My question now, Is there a way to check if I have power leaving the main power supply unit that you have linked to.

Im almost sure it is this board, just would like to trouble shoot and be sure and not just start replacing parts.

If there is no way, I will.

How hard is it to replace the components on the board. I have soldering gun.

thanks
Bob

'Sharpen' meter test lead points so they are less likely to slip off. (Won't really overcome a person's 'quaking in their boots' though.)

Fuse blew before I could start testing pins.

Think I might just send the board out

Nothig, I was just looking at the board reading the voyage for the pins. tested a few of them and didn't get any solid readings that matched board. Was doing nothing and it just popped.

I can't find a complete board anywhere. The repair kit looks like it doesn't include the part that looks burnt on my board.

Would like to find a complete one

What are the LOCATION NUMBER(s) of part(s) that MUST be included? You may have to scrape away white glue/silicon to read.

Looks like the main component I see charged is in position LP801. The connections of the Largest Heat Snk (HS801) are also a little charged.
Are the things on the side of the heat sink a type of fuse that are screwed to it?
The one at position QP801 is burnt as well

I don't see this component in the repair kit

Re: [lorusso] Samsung 46" blown fuse and a little char [In reply to] Can't Post

LP801 is a very large coil/choke. Likely NOT damaged - just struck by debris from the part that puked. The location number you want will likely be on the board, under the white silicone.
Are you meaning 'charred' or 'charged'? Take a old toothbrush, q-tip, etc. dipped in rubbing alcohol and clean up 'charred' areas.
Diode/IC/transistors (FETs) are screwed to heatsink. ALL parts will require desoldering/soldering skills, The 8-pin surface mount IC will be the most difficult.

Kit includes:
Fuses 2 FS801S, FS802S
Transistors 4 QI802, QI808, QP801, QP802
Integrated Circuits 2 ICM801, ICP801
Diodes 1 DP810
Capacitors 2 CM809, CM811
