Samsung HL-S5679W - Picture problem

Hello all.
I have a Samsung HL-S5679W. Here is the problem. The right side of the TV (50% right side) displays a perfectly fine picture but the left side (50% left side) still displays a picture but it has shades of green and red attached to the picture. I have called a couple of technicians and described this problem to them over the phone and they said that it was probably some "board" that needed to be replaced. But i just wanted to get some opinions before i turn in my TV not knowing what the issue was.
Can anyone give me any answers? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
