I have a Samsung TV that recently started making a clicking sound and wouldn't turn on. When you apply power to the TV, the bottom light will flash and then it will just start clicking.

I left power off for a day or two, but got the same results when plugging it back in. I checked the power boards capacitors and didn't see any blown.

I did a little research and started with replacing the power board. But got the same results. I did some more research and most things said the only other option was the main board. I replaced the main board and still getting the same results with the clicking. If I unplug the cable from the power board to the main board, the screen will light up. I have also tried unplugging the speakers, connection to tcon board, and to the infrared board while the connection is made from the power board to the main board, but no change.

Not sure if one of the boards I replaced is also bad or if there is something else I should try. I also looked into trying to test the voltages with a multimeter, but not sure exactly what I should be getting from different pins, etc..

Any help would be appreciated.

Lights ON with power to main cable unplugged is normal.

Does it play ALL of the turn on melody? If not unplug tcon and see if finishes.

Which is it? Has something changed? Are we referring to power LED or screen?
What about melody?

With all boards connected and power plugged in, the bottom light does not light up. When I try to turn the tv on with the remote, the bottom light will flash for a second and then nothing but the clicking sound every 10 seconds or so coming from the power board.

If I unplug the cable from the power board to the main board and then apply power, the led screen will light up.

I checked out the video, and I do get the backlight lighting up when disconnecting the cable from the power board to the main board. When I plug all cables back in and then disconnect the tcon cable from the main board, I get no melody and the clicking sound. I tried to disconnect the other connections from the main board (other than the connection going to the remote sensor board) and get the same results with the clicking and no melody.

Not sure if it could be something with the remote sensor board as I can't disconnect that and find a way to power on the TV.

This video is pretty much what my TV is doing and the same exact model. I tried to go down the line on the main board and disconnect other connections like he did in the video, but that didn't work.

Melody may have been disabled by user.

Didn't notice on the model difference, but the boards on the back look the same for the most part.

The TV did play the melody when turning it on before the clicking started.

He even directs to WRONG SM (although BOTH use same base chassis). HIS has RF switch at location he indicates, yours doesn't.

HIS model is NOT on yutub I sent you to. Is number on your tcon same as yutub?
