Samsung Starvision CRT TV - Power Light On But Black Screen

I have been trying to repair my grandmother's Samsung Starvision CRT TV set. Initial problems were; 1) Colour mixup 2) Sound breakup 3) Horizontal blurry/overlapping at the top 4) Horizontal misalignment - picture and text at say 10 degrees sloping down to the left.
I replaced the audio IC, color regulator and popped capacitors and the first three problems have been solved. The last (4) problem was still there so I tried to adjust the variable resistor on the main board and this cut off the power to the CRT and screen remains black with power led showing red (on). I tried readjusting the VR again but to no avail.
Anyone with experience or knowledge of this problem please help!
