Sony KDL-52W4100 image lags on last 6 inches on right side

HI, my son has a sony 52 inch lcd tv that has a screen delay of the image.The image stays for a few seconds then gradually fades away but only on the last 6 to 8 inches of the right side of the screen. the rest of the tv is fine it only happens for that small part and then gradually fades away from the left to the right and is replaced by the new image which does the same thing
