T-con board for Sony KDL-52XBR2 Can't Post

Need a T-con board for a Sony KDL-52XBR2. One is listed on E-bay but the number on the board is different than my current board. Do they need to match exactly? My # D01397K46K8031 Listing # DO1397K46J0003.

Yea I seen that video, thanks. Replaced the T-con board (used of coarse) and now I have a picture but there is a horizontal color line in the lower left screen. Bad board? Thanks

You never said what the original symptom(s) was(were) ...

IMPORTANT: Horizontal lines on the screen are virtually NEVER caused by a bad T-con board. Horizontal lines indicate a defective LCD panel (screen).

Re: [jts1957] T-con board for Sony KDL-52XBR2 [In reply to] Can't Post

Ok.....let's start from the top: Went to turn on the TV one day and it would only turn on very briefly......sound only, no picture, then shut off. Got 9 red flashes on the standby light right after shutting down. Internet info suggests it's a bad T-Con board. Replaced the T-con board ( used via E-bay ) Now I have a picture with sound BUT now I have a colored horizontal line in the lower left part of the screen. Reason I thought the horizontal line may be from the replaced T-Con board is because I never had a line there before the TV went bad. That's where I'm at now. Thanks for the help.

Is the line in the exact SAME place on EVERY input? On menu? And in all aspect ratios, screen formats, zoom, whatever they choose to call it.

According to the Training Manual:
# of blinks: 9
Event: DEFECTIVE BACKLIGHT OR LAMP POWER BOARD(S)
Possible causes: LCD PANEL D1, D2, D3 BOARDS
But then it (and curiously, the Service Manual also) mentions: ... the POWER LED on the front panel will begin blinking ...

Thanks for the info. Any ideas on how something like that would happen? Maybe by just moving it? Are those things that fragile? She weighs in at 102.6 LB'S A beast to say the least.

Squeezing too hard carrying holding fingertips against the screen (or a ring on somebody's hand).

Example:
TV was laid face down on a Wood table ... Hard small 1/4" tall object was left unknowingly between the screen and the table ... unfortunately the clearance between the screen and the table was 1/8."
I also could envision transporting in back seat of a vehicle with seatbelt buckle or a hard couch pillow button up against the screen.

Good enough. Could very well have happened transporting it into the garage Pirate. Still has a great picture. If anything it's good it's in the lower corner. LCD's have advanced so much from when this model came out. Time for a upgrade anyways sooooon. We can close this thread. Thanks again. Wink
