Vertical Hold Adjustment

I hooked up a Panasonic DVD player to my 27" Hitachi TV through the S-Video input. When watching DVD's in expanded screen mode, or pan-scan mode, at times the picture will flutter during different scenes. It happens consistently on the same scenes. I can use the Vertical Hold adjustment on the TV to correct for each particular scene, but each time the flutter happens in the picture, it requires a different Vertical Hold setting. Any help would be appreciated on what I could do to eliminate this problem. It does not happen when I watch DVD's in the Letterbox mode, with the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The picture will only vibrate or flutter when watching DVD's in full screen mode. Please help
