Sylvania LC155SL8 Dead Can't Post

Howdy - I'm new to the forum. I appreciate any help you all may be able to give me.

I was asked by my father in law to take a look at this tv and see what I could do. I don't know what happened to it - but when I got it, it was blowing the 4a fuses. I usually assume that a part with a heat sink is likely to fail first...so I tested a little fet transistor (to the best of my limited ability) and it appeared to be shorted. All 3 legs tested against the heat sink were wide open. I replaced that (thanks digi-key) and now it doesn't blow fuses. But it doesn't do anything else either.

Any ideas?

Howdy tscheucher - Thanks for the help!

I pulled both zener diodes off to test them. The one underneath the resistor reads 002 in both directions (not sure what it's measuring on the diode setting). The yellow/red diode next to the resistor reads 348 in one direction and 392 in the other. I'm using a cheap cen-tech digital multimeter for this test. I use an older sears analog meter for most other tests.

The safety resistor reads open.

The caps read fine as per this ohmmeter test -

Raised white component reads open.

Rectifier diodes read in only one direction with the diode tester setting of the multimeter.

I pulled the mosfet driver

I cannot find a datasheet to see where the drain, collector and emmiter are for this test

Thanks jts1957 - now you got me on both forums.

K3563 is the one I already replaced - but thanks for that link to the CSC2120Y. I'll give it a test today and see what comes of it.

Should those little zener diodes read in just one direction like the other larger diodes?

When you mention "drain" & transistor & can't find datasheet it sets off bells & whistles. Gave both to be safe.
A diode junction is a diode junction is a diode junction (with rare exceptions). All test alike.Smile
