Fisher FVH-919 VHS Powering Off Can't Post

Hello everyone,

I have been on a roll recently repairing my Fisher Amplifier, Cassette and CD players, but have hit a dead end on this one.

What happens is I hit the power button and a few seconds later it powers off.

I have a couple videos showing what happens.

In this one the closer belt is slipping on the pulley side. Could that be the whole reason it powers off? Would hate to buy a belt for no reason.

Thanks all!

Loading motor spins a (smaller) pulley > Drives a belt > which drives a (slightly larger) pulley/worm gear, etc. (a magic marker line from pulley axle to edge makes seeing if pulley is spinning a breeze.)

Can the larger pulley continue to be turned by hand (machine unplugged) causing machine to (slowly) "load" the tape? (I assume you DO have a tape in the machine?) If so, try a fresh belt. If you encounter any serious resistance when turning by hand - do not force it.

I replaced the loader motor belt and the vcr works perfectly.

Thank you!
