I have this really cool piece of gear that I don't have room or need for. It's a top-loading VHS VCR that has a 5" diagonal color monitor built in. Everything on the unit works fine, but it labors a bit when it hasn't been used for a few months. It could use new loading belts (takes 3), new idler tire and probably a chassis lube someday - but it does work fine as long as it's used once a month or more. I thought this would make a great VCR to watch movies at the bench, and also makes a handy A/V monitor (mono audio only). You can use the A/V inputs to test other VCR's, and the A/V outputs to supply a known good signal from a tape, thereby eliminating the need for expensive signal generators. I can even include a test tape of color bars and alignment patterns. There is also a storage slot for one VHS tape - perfect!
This unit does NOT have a TV tuner, but it does have a channel 3/4 RF output, as well as A/V inputs and outputs. The A/V signal comes through when the VCR is in STOP mode or has no tape inside. This unit has recording capability, with all 3 speeds.
