Is Scart to blame or is it a bad signal Can't Post

Is Scart responsible

Hi all, I have a problem with my video during recording, my system set up is a Loewe Aventos television connected to a Loewe 8138H video player, in turn connected to a DVD and a set top digital box all via scart, the problem is that when I record either from the set top box or analogue television an intermittant fault occurs which is, that during play sometimes a black screen appears for a split second, sometimes for a second, then when the picture comes back on it rolls for a little while, just like tracking problems, then the picture is ok again, this happens at intervals otherwise the picture quality is perfect, this has only just started as far I as remember a few months back, it was ok when I first hooked the system up, I was thinking it could either be a degrading scart lead, a dry joint somewhere or possibly a bad signal, the system is reletively new, anyone throw some light on this please as its driving me nuts. Crazy
