Salvage a old RCA 54" Can't Post

Hey folks my 12+ year old big screen has died again but I love the cabinet and want to use for an entertainment center. I seem to remember that there is a component inside TV's that still retains a charge even after power supply is disconnected. I don't want to get fried during disassembly. Any input would be appreciated.

you need to discharge the crt by using large insulated handle screwdrivers or similar and short circuit the high voltage connector to the body (aquadag) of the crt.then its safe to take it apart so long as you dont drop it!!
