vcr not recording	Can't Post

My syphonic dvd/vcr is not recording. I can program it but the indicator light (program set) does not come on. It will switch to the channel to be recorded at the time to record it but all it does to the tape is produce a gray static. I can view other tapes and I can watch dvds. I just can not record. Help!!! I am missing my favorite shows because I can not record.

Lizgibbs, it's time to clean the video heads. Also, You may need another blank tape. do not use the vcr to rewind after.

Can you manually record by just pressing record on the VCR and recording the channel you are viewing, I have a feeling you are doing something wrong. That you have done it 100 times before does not matter, if you can see a picture through the VCR and record that, then you have changed one step in the record process. This is a common fault actually, Ive had it many times and have had customers swear blind the machine was wrong.
