Re: [Ron.M] Phillips 61 Inch Tv Problem [In reply to] Can't Post

mozilla, roadrunner :)

if i click my link thats all i have to do.... it loads itself and plays

im no tv wiz but computers are my specialty, you must have a virus on your computer that im sure ur aware of. maybe you dont have the codec needed to play the video file, or maybe your computer is screwed lol

going from easiest to hardest--

1. reboot your computer destroying the problem that exsistes.
2.disk cleanup -- download ccleaner and clean your registry
3. download panda (best antivirus software) its not free, but i downloaded it via torrent :)
4. throw your computer out the window :)

either way if you dont wana reinstall windows or linex or whatever you have running as your OS, then you will have to buy a decent antivirus program (avg free is free and reliable) but dosent do everything it should, panda works on its own with no input from the user and is imo a perfect program.

just my 2 cents on your problem :)
hope something helped , if it pleases you i can upload the file to youtube so maybe it will load for you, if i were you id suggest using IE and get the abode shockwave and also the other plugins for video that run on browsers.

and if all fails go to antbar.com and download there plugin, it lets you download ANY video from anywhere on any site as long as it exsists. so get that and see if you cant play it (watch it on ur comp.) it will download into a flv file tohugh, so download vlc player to play that file.

well if none that works i suggest #4 on my list :)

A small amount of military surplus "C-4" will take care of ALL your computer problems.
A large amount of military surplus "C-4" and you won't have to worry about ANY problems.WinkWink

cartelli:.....

So you're a "computer specialist" eh ???...Well , well, well...
Looks like we could swap a little expertise here ???
1st;...Here's the basics on my computer...
It's a Dell GX280 SFF , with Windows XP Pro SP3 ...
Reinstalling Windows is NOT an option...
I'm on basic (el cheapo grande ) dial-up with NetZero as my ISP
& have Internet Explorer-7 as my browser....
I have Panda , Avast , MBAM & SpyBot installed & ONLY Avast is active at ALL times...
I have the latest Adobe Flash player installed...

Now in reply to your post;....

Quote
you must have a virus on your computer that im sure ur aware of. maybe you dont have the codec needed to play the video file, or maybe your computer is screwed

There is NO virus on my computer....
It has been checked & checked , rechecked again with none found...
As you see above , I have Avast...
If you go to a bad website , Avast warns you IMMEDIATELY & won't allow the webpage to load up...
Does AVG or Panda do that , I don't think so....
Avast IS updated DAILY....
Does AVG or Panda do that ???...I think not....
I have 2 Dell's & AVG creates problems on both units...
So adios AVG.....
Panda seems to be doing nada...
It just sits there taking up space....
I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of it....
IMHO , Avast IS the BEST out there.....PERIOD....& it's FREE.....
Avast checks your email , warns you about bad websites , updates daily & does a THOROUGH scan for anything that slips thru....
What more could you ask for ???
So much for viruses , etc....

Now,for codecs:....
I have Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX with Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin.....
Your 1st little movie played just fine on this computer , albeit that movie was considerably shorter in length....
My computer has a "glitch" of some sort & hopefully is NOT screwed...

Quote
if it pleases you i can upload the file to youtube so maybe it will load for you, if i were you id suggest using IE

I have Speedbit Video Accelerator , so that may be worth a shot...
Please keep the video at Photobucket there also , just in case....

Quote
and get the abode shockwave and also the other plugins for video that run on browsers

I need help with this part...."abode" is Spanish for "home"....si....
If you meant "Adobe" Shockwave , I think that Adobe Flash Player covers that...Am I right ????.....
If not , I'll need help with that & the plugins you mentioned...

FINALLY:.....

THIS;==>

Quote
going from easiest to hardest--

1. reboot your computer destroying the problem that exsistes.
2.disk cleanup -- download ccleaner and clean your registry
3. download panda (best antivirus software) its not free, but i downloaded it via torrent :)
4. throw your computer out the window :)

Does not make you a computer specialist....
#1 does NOT get rid of any viruses , trojans or malware of ANY kind....
#2 ..I have CCleaner & use it EVERY time I turn my computer off...
I do NOT mess with the registry...
99.9% of computer techs will tell you NOT to tamper with the registry...
You could cause irrepairable harm to your computer....
Further , you are NOT cleaning your registry , you are removing
temporary files you got while on the net....
#3 we covered already....
#4 aint gonna happen...Sly.....
FINALLY , With ALL due respect, you have to show me a heck of a lot more
computer stuff before I would say you are a "specialist"...

I am currently involved with a computer tech assist website....
We have been thru this computer from one end to "almost" the other...
It is a "stupid" little agravating problem that can & will hopefully be fixed soon....

Quote
just my 2 cents on your problem :)

NO OFFENSE , but one of us owes the other 2 cents...Sly.....

i didnt say i was a genius and sorry for the wrong word :reboot: i meant "reinstall" sorry wording was wrong haha

im no genius but i know a hell of alot more about comps than tvs.

from what im seeing you have the best setup to not have any problems, all codecs, all your software you have applys you dont have a virus.

i dont know what is the matter with your comp but #1 will solve your problem lol.

anyway it seems you have someone on your comp forum or site your using and it seems that your comp "should" be in great shape, now why it isnt is impossible for me or any tech to solve without actually being at the computer itself. since u have been through all the steps you already went through and no success.

anyway ill upload the video to another site for you to view, and im sorry if i frustrated you with my "specialty" since it wasnt up to par with your current info. just trying to help.

and btw i found out avast putes malware and spyware on your computer as it works, which is the reason i dont use it, this is proven by me its just what i have read many times, but heck everyone is wrong once in a while. anyway i use panda because i just want to lol

hopefully this video will work so i might finally get my tv back to normal lol
Every place I went to on the web, there's NO mention that Avast puts ANY malware or spyware on your computer...Please PROVE it ! ! ! ..

Here's a link for "Panda" reviews....You may change your mind....

You'll find a bit of good , but a lot of bad reviews there ....Sorry...
I don't think I'm wrong.....But use whatever floats your boat & GOOD LUCK with it....

cartelli;....

OK , I finally got to see both movies on YouTube....
Seems we have to teach you how to make a movie....
Lots of jumping around in both clips....
In one clip (TV problem 2) it looks like you need focus adjustments...
Primarily on the blue...(Later)
In the other , it looks like you need to check & fill all the CRTs....DO IT!!!!
It's difficult for me to see what's going on at the top of the screen.....
Make another movie.....This time , IF you are on meds,STOP !!!....
If you are not on meds , START!!!...Try to be a LOT more stable & NOT so jittery....
Also , start away from the problem area & then SLOWLY move into it...
This way we get an idea of where its at ....Take your time & don't rush thru it...
A steady hand & slow movement will do the trick...
In both clips I can NOT tell IF the TV OR YOUR camera is what's out of focus...
After you make this next movie , look at it & see if you can CLEARLY
see the problem you just made a video of...
IF its not adjust something to make it better...
If its too bright & washed out , try turning the TV
brightness down & re-shoot the video...
Experiment with the TV &/or your camera...
You'll eventually get a GOOD video worthy of an "Oscar"...
Well , maybe not....

In reply to your post:....

Hey , thanks for reminding me of that....Wink....I see you've been here LESS than a month & you're reminding "me" whose been here about 10 months posting etc....Sly......

Quote
and it was a forum on a secret site (scenetorrents.org)

I went there...Except for a password & ID , pretty much nothing there....
Looks VERY suspicious...NOT good....

Quote
that said avast had malware and spyware and the people there are very smart

Without me seeing the SITE , I have SERIOUS doubts about their authenticity &/or smarts...
When someone is that secretive about something like Avast Anti-virus , it sends up a LOT of red flags...
So that website proved NOTHING to me...Any others you want to share???...

i wont be able to reshoot the film till christmas cause thats when i get my camera, but if u can tell me anything from what you see in the other films then that would help me out alot

The ONLY thing that I can see is possibly that the CRTs appear to be low on coolant....
Check each one.... <<< What does this say ???
Start with the red so you see where the fluid level should be at....
Then check the others...The green looks like it's definitely low.....

NO , I don't know for a fact that that is what it is...But IF you DON"T fill the DAM CRTs , HOW are we gonna know ???...Open up your TV & LEAVE it open till we're done...We have more work to do & you NEED to have the set opened up....PERIOD ! ! !

I suppose I still do not get these forums.
My brand of humor and wit does not carry over in my posts..
Is there a way to fix that?...possibly in a block diagram?
I would hope it could plotted on a graph and I could possibly see a pattern to see if my problem is linear or random....maybe get an idea on how to troubleshoot it.
Oh wait,I almost forgot....SmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Ron,You are ok in my book as well.
For now..
