No one here has this transistor 2SC5591. One storage offered me replacement 2SC5144 but voltage between emmiter and base is lower so I ordered original from UK ebay and it will arrive between 6.-8. March.

On what is related error on self diagnose on blue screen like on page 5 on manual DOLBY error?

Is DOLBY related on preamplifier where is audio signal analog to digital converted and then in digital mode adjustment VOLUME, BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE and then again converted from digital to analog signal for output speaker amplifier?

Is DOLBY preamplifier only or preamplifier with output amplifier or complete audio from scart to speakers?

PS I have no picture yet till transistor arrives, I just remember when I had picture that was an error on self diagnose.

A little light reading: https://elektrotanya.com/...de.pdf/download.html

Didn't see anything there about Self Check, but if you can fathom it, it should answer your other questions.

Hi,

today came new transistor and I build it and television Works fine accept sound, but sometimes when I turn on the television it turns on for second-two and switches off in standby and standby red led is blinking three times-pause, three times-pause...

This red LED blinking three time code happend once or twice before I shorted and burned horizontal transistor.
Now it happend this more often and I can't turn on the television.

When I turned on the television I had sound on headphones only and then disappeared suddenly and I can't get sound any more, there is no rule with sound when it will appear.

https://www.brainchamber.com/panasonic-tv-blink-codes/

On this web it says could be A board or D board .
Somewhere I found that this 3 blinks are related to convergence circuit...

Reading about Dolbi it is explaining about Dolby surround, Dolby pro logic did not found exact information.

It seems like cold solders have opened while wobbling PCB.

I'll resolder all audio parts and see would be any changes.

Re: [Megatron] CRT Panasonic TX-36PG50D tickting noise but not from relay [In reply to] Can't Post

I am still inspecting power supply pcb D-bord and found few electrolitic condensors with to high ESR and repleace them, the were not bulged, but to high ESR.

Found some suspicious zener diode D852 MA4030L (next to IC 851 at bottom) and I am not sure is this normal when with multimeter diode testing range it shows both ways leaking:
In passage way it shows 685mV "good" (11,10 megaohms) and in opposite way it shows 1904mV again "good" (19,83 megaohms), usualy in opposite way it should write "open" like when nothing is connected, but here in both ways it flows current, is this normal?

Tomorrow I'll finish inspecting D-bord and write complete report.

As far as ESR, if you don't specify which one(s) ...

Low zener voltage diodes may test like that. If it checks the same in or out of circuit, it should be OK. If you had a good one to compare it to ...

Today I have finished D-bord all elements inspection. Found only to high ESR on electrolitic capacitors C504 (100uF 35V), C861 (330uf 35V), C871 (10uF 50V), C808 (220uF 35V), C885 (47uF 35V). I haven't inspected only FET and integraded circles.

Tomorow I start A bord inspection.

Found two burned resistors on PCB DF bord TNPA 1806. It is small PCB vertically mounted on D board something for picture, I don't Know what this circuit do but mounted on D7 (to DF1) and D8 (to DF2) connectors on D board.

Burned resistors are R527 180k and R531 330k. Resistor R527 shows infinite resistance and R531 instead 330k shows 2,3 megaohms. This is probably sometimes causing blinking the standby LED and TV don't want to turn on and sometimes it turnes on normaly, there is no rule.

I just didn't inspect FET transistor because I don't Know how to do, probably is fine.

On CRT PCB L-bord TNPA 1726 found burned resistor R950 330 ohm (wire resistor). The resistor shows infinite resistance. Also electrolitic capacitors C958, C961, C905, C974, C967, C360, C964 too high ESR.

I Wonder how I have get even picture with this burned resistors on several PCBs!?

Tomorow I start inspecting audio PCBs.

On A bord TNPH0348 found burned diode D2306 (under IC2301) and found burned diode D2715 (under IC2305). This diodes are the same MA29Q-A, infinite resistance in both ways.

I'll finish this A bord this days, I couldn't earlyer because it was winter and cold outside and I work outside on the bench.

Diodes D2306 and D2715 MA29Q-A are fine, came new from China and act the same way as my old diodes.

I have repleaced burned resistors such wire resistor R950 330 ohm on CRT L board, burned carbon composite resistors on DF board R527 220k ohm, R531 330k ohm.

Then I have turned on the TV the TV worked normaly, I made check diagnose and still writes DOLBY not OK. I turned TV off and when I wanted to turn on the TV again the TV turns on for one second and goes back to stand by mode with red LED 3 blinking code. I can't believe it!Crazy

I have measured voltages within 1 second before TV goes in safety stand by blinking LED mode.

On D board:
connector D1:
Pin 1 7,5V (7,5V) OK
Pin 2 7,5V (7,5V) OK
Pin 11, 12, 13 -20V (measured -26V)(STB 6mV)
Pin 14, 15, 16 +20V (measured 14V)(STB 0,6V)

connector D2:
Pin 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 15V (13V)(STB 0,6V)
Pin 15 30V (30,8V)(STB 180mV) OK
Pin 16 3,3V (3,4V)(STB 0,8V) OK

connector D6:
Pin 1 220V (230V)(STB 0,0mV) OK
Pin 3 144V (can not measure jumping within 1 second)(STB 100mV)

STB stand by mode.
Sorry for delay the parts are arriveing over one month.

Is it possible to override the safety mode to turn on the TV constantly and let it to smoke where the problem is?

Just found the problem what is making the shortage, it is the audio DP board. When I pull it out from circuit the TV Works perfect except there is no sound. Now how to repair the bord if it is out of the circuit?!

I was experimenting, the TV normaly Works only when the cabel is pluged in on DP5 connector. If I plug in the cabel on DP4 connector it makes shortage. If I plug in DP1, DP2, DP3, DP6 connectors on board without DP4 connector cable it also makes shortage.

And again without audio DP board the TV is shutting down after 1 second again. I don't Know where is the problem.

Re: [Megatron] CRT Panasonic TX-36PG50D tickting noise but not from relay [In reply to] Can't Post

The problem is in PROTECTION line on D bord which goes further through pin4 D2 connector on A board on which is U bord which is switching off the TV after one second and making 3 blinking code.

On PROTECTION line are this diodes from Devices which are shutting down the TV for Protection:
D592 Heater Supply
D595 H. Flyback
D862 EW Protection
D865 -15,5V -VCC Vertical (measured -15,03V)
D867 +15V
D869 +15,5V +VCC Vertical (measured +15,18V)

Q854, Q851 transistors

In my case when I remove the diode D869 for positive vertical power supply I finaly can turn on the TV without blinking code but the voltage isn't 15,5V then 15,18V and that is the problem, somewhere is leaking the too much current and PROTECTION line is detecting.

Re: [Megatron] CRT Panasonic TX-36PG50D tickting noise but not from relay [In reply to] Can't Post

The problem is solved with blinking code problem. I'm too shame to tell what was the issue, nothing serious and still make headacheCrazy. The TV now turns ON and OFF normaly without blinking codes.

Now the only problem is the audio "DOLBY not OK" on self diagnose mode what was the reason why was the TV actualy opened.

After 30 minutes or 1 hour the audio comes randomly or if I play with opened audio menu with remote control the audio comes randomly and Works normaly till switching off the TV.

I am trying to found out with the tone generator and oscilloscope where the audio signal is going and I have problem with osciloscope readings.

This is the signal which comes from ton generator 1,3kHzthrough chinch connectors in TV:
https://ibb.co/mRQD6J

This is the direct connection of oscilloscope to speakers when ton generator signal appears and whistling:
https://ibb.co/cNDN0d
https://ibb.co/cYti6J

When I turn off the sound with MUTE button on remote control I still got the same readings on oscilloscope like when the the sound is on and I am confused what are this readings.

When the TV is off, the readings are normaly zero:
https://ibb.co/bVm9fd

The same way with headphones, I have the same signal on output headphones wheather the sound is comming in headphones or not and this is confusing.

What are this sinusoide appearance actualy?

By chance, Is there a SBX1637 hybrid IC on the boards they don't cover?

On audio DP board there is no SBX1637. On video matrix DG board there is also no SBX1637.

I can scan my paper datasheet audio DP board TNPA 1727 because on PDF there is no datasheet and on paper datasheet there is.
