Re: [Ron.M] Help replacing tripler grundig CUC3400 including schematics [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for being so patient with me

The pot is moving but there is absolutely no difference when i turn it around.
HUF's must be hungarian currency, I don't know 'cause I'm in Portugal Tongue

The way I got to a HRT904 was by searching one HRDiemen site:
http://hr-shop.es/
Whether I type in the original part (BG 2077-642-1004 HG) or the tv model (T51-400/1) is shows up HRT904, and looking at the photos of the HRT904 they do look the same.
On the back of my tv is says chassis CUC3400

Something is in fact strange because here:
http://obsoletetellyemuseum.blogspot.com/2011/03/grundig-super-color-t51-340-gch68.html
even the flyback has a different part number 5711 when my tv is a 5705 which truely is. Even though both tv share the same chassis.

But then again maybe the guy from that site mixed up the schematics because according to the hrdiemer site, that model tv mentioned uses the same components of my tv.

So I'm pretty sure it's the HRT904 I really need. BUT there are other variants of that model that uses a HRT903 which at least externally are the same, I'm going to check the difference between those 2 triplers right now.

So the difference between them are slightly different values of the internal resistor.

Someone else asked in another site which triplers could be installed on the cuc3400 chassis.

They answered

For 14" and 20" either HRT903 or HRT904
The HRT903 is for Grundig with low focus CRTs
The HRT904 is for Grundig with high focus CRTs
Th HRT906 is for 26" and 28" Grundig
The HRT250BP is for 33" and 38" Grundig

Damn, I don't think I could get away with a 903 then...

First the focus was sharp, then day by day it got more and more blurry, then I'd adjust the pot to get sharp again until it reached a point that got so blurry that the pot wouldn't turn any further.
The last time the tv worked before the tripler started arcing the image was so unfocused that even subtitles was unreadable.

Oh, sorry about that, when I posted that it was 1am here!Laugh

The site is WWW.HRDIEMEN.ES not hrdiemerBlush

It's a spanish site of that brand of components (HRT904, HRT227BP, etc...) if you click on "repair" you can search for replacement parts based on original reference number, or TV brand and model number.

They even have components for american brands that are non existant in europe like RCA, Zenith, etc...

Have an excellent day Wink

Ron! I have excellent news!

So I went back to the tripler and "tore" open the pot, the spring that pushes the ferrite piece against the contact plate was out of it's place. So I assembled everything back carefully and adjusted the focus pot and now I have a nice focussed picture! CoolCoolCool

I think the TV is working 100% now and I want to thank you for your excellent help, time and patience with me!
