Sony kv-36hs510 need help see update at bottom Can't Post

This set is my sons. need service manual model kv-36hs510.Set is sometimes hard to turn on hits power and can hear relay click on then off and most of the time it will stay on.any help would be great.

If you Googled "Free Sony kv-36hs510 Service Manual" with quotes , you'd have found;=>...

At the top it says;=>.. File name; KV-32HS510.part13.rar
Go down to;=>... Multipart: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12
& click on "0" (= Part #1)
OR the "0" above....Takes you right to it....
Then click on "1" , download that , etc ,etc.....

There are 13 parts to this manual....
Each one is about 1.5 MBs....
It's an .rar file....
You will need an Unzipper to open the files....
I reccommend 7-Zip...It's FREE & easy to use....
And it works for .rar files....
Do NOT open till you have ALL 13 parts downloaded....

Obviously you're an idiot who failed to read the whole thread. Both TVs have the same well documented start issues with the same faulty ICs that I went into some detail in explaining how to replace by what means. Soldering!! Why don't you read the post before you ask stupid questions you ignorant old fool.

Ron thanks for manual info. just trying to fine out what the problem is too. Son said you push power and you can hear relay click and then shut off if you hit power enough tv will come on and stay on.he lives far away and was trying to get a heads up on the problem.

Does the standby light blink when it shuts down and if so, how many times? Shut down in older Sonys is often caused by IK shutdown due to an aging CRT and can generally be solved temporarily by turning up the scrreen voltage.

95% of start up issues with these sets are caused by two 18 pin ICs on the "D" board. They are labeled IC8002 and IC6501. They are both the same Shindengen MCZ3001D chips, and can be bought on E-Bay for about $10.00 US for the pair with sockets. When replacing these please note the orientation of the notch on the end of the chips so you don't install the new ones backwards. Also take note that 2 of the pins are not soldered.

update june 9 2010
First off would like to again thank ron.m,princebytore andjts1957 for all there help.Made the trip down to my sons on week-end only to fine out he will be put on heart transplant list.Okay installed sockets,installed chips checked all connections checked double checked.plugged tv in and pushed power button on sparked by pins 1&2 and did smell some burning.Now it flashing 3 times instead of 6had to get back home pulled "D" board as for got cap tester is there anything eles that could be problem?at a loss as sony was never my faveroite tv to work on.

I don't have the manual downloaded...
So if you need any further help from me , I'll have to download the manual....
That will take me about 1 hour as I'm on dial-up....
From what you said about the arcing/sparking , I think you'll have more than a 5 volt problem....
Let me know if I can be of further help....
BTW:...Sony is not my favorite either....Unsure....
PS: Formerly resided in the Fox Lake area in Ill.....

Your signature looks like you are/were in the TV bussiness....
Is that correct ???...

How did you come to the conclusion that you have a 5 volt problem ????...

I need to know more about that sparking by pins 1 & 2....
Pin 1 normaly has 135 vdc & pin 2 normaly has 15 vdc....
IF there was an arc directly between those 2 pins , the chances are that the IC is gone....
What you smelled burning , God only knows what that is/was .....Unsure....
Blinking 3 times means that (According to page 8 in the manual) you have Low B+ Overvoltage...(Reads like an oxymoron !!!)...
That IC6505 is faulty...(D board)
So as you see , this can be a "no-fix" very easily....Unsure...

Ron,yes was in tv but been retired due to health. the 5volts come from service manual that you give me link too.Okay the little spark was ic 6501 between pin 1&2 buy c 6518. did repace ic 6501 and still 3 blinks.also replaced ic8002 the spark was so fast.
