mel;.....

With ALL due respect ,mel , there IS a way to fix that , BUT , there's NO way I'm going to try to explain it to him....
Otherwise there might be another sunami there...
It's a simple way to bypass the "alledged" short in the green gun & provide isolation to the filament....
But , notice that simple English is a problem for him....Unsure...

SOOooo....

Good Luck with that 21" doorstop....

Yes, I have probably described this method somewhere in my past posts and If he wants to to go back and do a little research, he can probably find it. However, I was just trying to finally put this problem to bed without further contention..

While this item IS a good deal (They were selling for ~$12.00) , our challenged "friend" lives in Sri Lanka..(Among other places)...
http://cgi.ebay.com/...former-/150546845743
I genuinely feel he would NOT be able to install it correctly...

This does NOT apply here !!!!

It comes with detailed instructions that even could follow.
OVER his head ....Has special instructions for "Sony" TVs...

mel;.....

"NOPE" seemed to me to be a SOLID NO !!!
But, I appreciate your efforts to end this loverly neverending story...
He will find something to post about....
Watch for it...

You 2 have a GREAT day & weekend.....Sly....

Anyone... [In reply to] Can't Post

mel;...
See , I said "Watch for it & there "it" is....

To anyone who cares....

I'm NOT insulting him, I'm stateing facts...
I AM far more familiar with English words than he'll EVER be...
Tsunami is NOT an English word....
It is of Japanese origin....
1905–10; < Japanese, equivalent to tsu harbor (earlier tu ) + nami wave

I mispelled the word...
My MOST humble apologies to the Japanese....

Re: [mel] sony kv 2197 m3 [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi
i tried this . Homemade CRT Restorer on http://www.anatekcorp.com/ttg/tiptrick.htm
for KG -light came on and off. KR same. and KB no lighit
Now i can see Green colour little bit and KG voltage now around 50 -60 but compare with others it is bad. how ever when i on the TV i can see the Channel number in green and after few secont it become black. also noticed the Screen voltage adjuster also burnted, it was 2.5M ad when i turn it , the colours are changing too. not brightness.
any idea mel?

Re: [chirath] sony kv 2197 m3 [In reply to] Can't Post

The CRT Restorer was only intended to rejuvinate the CRT, not remove shorts. Click on this sites SEARCH POSTS function, type in "cathode" after post string and type "mel" after show only posts by. You will find several explanations of the methodology for bypassing the cathode short to ground, some more detailed than others. If this does not work, you need to replace the set or live with the lousy picture. "NUFF SAID" is an english contraction of enough said and I hope that applys here.

mel;.....

This is NOT meant to hurt your feelings in ANY way....PERIOD !!!!
Did you check out jts1957's eBay link ????
Did you happen to notice that almost all are B&K's ????

B&K was at one time a highly respected company with top drawer products....
They slipped somewhere along the line some time ago...
With LED , LCD & Plasma taking over the complete market , ALL CRT
Restorers/Rejuvenators are nearly extinct , IF not already...

My unit DOES remove shorts from CRTs...(Includes Proj CRTs)

Just to clarify things a little & NOT put you down....

Have a GREAT day & week....Sly...

Did you check the Ebay link???????????????? It says "SHIPS TO UNITED STATES. Since english is his second language, it is a good bet that he does not qualify. As for the BK, when I bought it back in the 50s, it was considered as top of the line and it DOES have the clear shorts function. As I stated, I have not had much success with this function. I do not comment on your posts, please return the courtesy.

You know , you try to be friendly with someone , enlighten them & they occasionally get their shorts in a snit....Frown....

YES , I did....
9 out of 14 units for sale , there at the time I was there (Today) , ARE B&K units...
Also , WHAT does ANY of that have to do with ANYTHING I said ????
WHO inferred that "chirath" has ANY intentions of ordering a B&K unit ????
YES , by now , we ALL know that he IS in Sri Lanka & English is NOT very good for him....

Once again , NO OFFENSE meant...
But , I feel the B&K units did not have the engineering design for a good "clear shorts" function...
Other units DID !!!...

PLEASE don't make me go back & get proof that you DID...
Because I CAN...(As a matter of fact , right here in this thread , for starters !!!)...
NO one here has immunity from commentary from other posters , you & myself included....
I was 100% courteous with commenting on your posts....
You apparently took OFFENSE to something I said...
SORRY about that...
