Did you check to make sure it was bad?
I found them on ebay here:

I checked the diode at Z9 and it was fine. I am getting 400V at the large cap. Any ideas?

Your mainboard is probably shot.
Try replacing it.

I just fixed one of these by reflowing all the solder joints. I did not see any suspect conections, but re-soldered almost every joint here and Bam ! on it came.

Hey guys, I ran across this post in my attempts to repair the FLM-3232, I got it repaired and thought I would sign up and let you all know what I did.
Symptom: I had now red led or any other sign that the tv was getting power.
Repair: I checked Capacitor C43 made by LTEC. It had a slight bulge at the top. I desoldered it, and the bottom was blown out. Got another one and put it in, voltages came back up to 24v. Red LED came on and tv powered up. Plan on replacing the 2200 micro-farad caps at the bottom left also due to a slight bulge, they are both made by LTEC. May be beneficial to take an inventory on all electrolytic capacitors and replace them all to ensure longivity. I prefer Mouser.com Hope this helps.

Here is a photo I got off the net. The guy who posted is selling a repair service through Ebay. You can tell that C43 (and possibly the capacitor (C35) next to it) has been replaced.

Re: [nuwk3r] Polaroid FLM-3232 no power "picture inside" [In reply to] Can't Post

I know this is a super old post to reply to but if anyone still cares, i was able to get my DC power supply working. The symptom was blue LED turns red and that's it, no power. Turns out the switched 24V supply was not getting turned on. Found a bad surface mount NPN BJT that supplies bias to the PWM IC under the board. I used a 2n3904 and it started right up with out load. Once back in the chassis it now powers the inverter but the inverter turns it on and off fast, and the 28V sags. Basically my backlight is now a strobe light. :-) Thoughts?

Re: [gruv2ths] Polaroid FLM-3232 no power "picture inside" [In reply to] Can't Post

I have the Polaroid FLM-3232 TV with the yellow/orange power supply, it has a slight buzzing from near the 450 cap, when i push the power button i get the blue LED on front and the TV flashes the Polaroid screen for second and then only black, i can turn it off (red LED) or on (blue LED), but nothing else works.
-
I took it apart and disconnected the tuner and cable tv modules, as well as the input board, this leaves the HDMI & VGA only, but still no picture/sound.
-
I measured all the red leads and they are 23.8vdc, i measured across the big cap and i get 289vdc, measured across CN4 & CN5 and i get 11.8vdc, all caps appear to be un-bulged.
-
Can anyone please assist me further in getting my TV to work? I do not own an ESR meter.

Re: [Cor'e =)] Polaroid FLM-3232 no power "picture inside" [In reply to] Can't Post

What voltage do you get with the inverter unplugged? (sounds like now it is 11V??) I bet it gets to full voltage. Mine does. But on mine when the inverter goes to turn on the power supply seems to oscillate and the voltage is all over the place. It could measure 11V like yours, but i didn't measure it with a DMM, i used a scope. So right now the question to me is one of 2 things. 1) is the PS bad and oscillating due to its own problems. 2) is the inverter (the PS load) a short and pulling the PS output down and making it oscillate?

Thoughts??
My Blue ESR meter gets delivered this week. Hopefully answers to follow..

Re: [gruv2ths] Polaroid FLM-3232 no power "picture inside" [In reply to] Can't Post

Had to reply to this post because I found some new info that I didn't find on here.
I had the same problem with this TV - FLM323B .... Red power light, click power button then blue light. Blue light goes off after 4 seconds. Never has a back light.
I figured it was a power board, so I ordered one and put it in. Plugged it in and same exact problem.
Upon further troubleshooting, I have found that if I unplug the LVDS cable from either the TCon side or the Mainboard side, I can get a solid blue light when I hit power and back light comes on.
My problem is, how do I figure out if it is the mainboard or the TCon? The service manual isn't much help.

Thanks,
Rich
